Description
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, a part of the world known for its microclimates. In the summer months, the difference between the cool ocean air and the warm inland air can cause thick fingers of fog to creep in, making summer seam like a drizzly, cold winter day. You can drive for only an hour, and experience a temperature change of 50 degrees (farenheit)! This painting was inspired by an area where Highway 280 (along Crystal Springs Reservoir in San Mateo County) meets Highway 90, leading out to Half Moon Bay. The fog really does come in in rolls like this and it's a beautiful sight to behold!
