This painting celebrates the Catholic tradition of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Instead of the traditional use of a crown, here I show Jesus, her Son, bestowing the honor with a kiss in reverence of his love for his mother. Christ is creator of all, shown here in the elements of fire, water, air...and Mary as one of his earthen creatures. About Jen Norton
Painfully shy as a child, Jen was unable to communicate with anyone outside her family except through drawing. Visual language was her first language and she never lost her passion for its ability to communicate for her. There was never a day she "decided" to become an artist. For Jen, there was just no other way to be. Jen Norton is a graduate of Santa Clara University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, with a Minor in Business. Jen worked as a Graphic Designer in the Silicon Valley where developing marketing communications materials helped push her from purely personal expression to full conversation.
